Say No to Market Linked GIC’s: There’s a Better Use for GICs!

A lot of banks and investment dealers are offering (and heavily promoting!) so-called Market-linked GIC’s. These are products where you are guaranteed at least your original investment back at the end of a set period (usually 1-5 years), with the possibility if a higher return than you’d usually get from a standard interest bearing GIC.
